The Silicon Valley star and the Mohawk-sporting orange wedge that stars on the Shock Top beer label are both making their Super Bowl ad debut this year, and they've set the bar pretty high for themselves, promising no less than "the greatest Super Bowl commercial of all time" in a teaser clip released earlier this week.


Admitting that he wasn't quite sure what to think when "a small boutique brewery" by the name of Anheuser-Busch first approached him about starring in a commercial, he told us he then realized they hadn't made a mistake once he realized he's be working with a talking beer tap head named Wedgehead that only he could see or hear. (Anheuser-Busch, again the exclusive beer advertiser for the Super Bowl, has purchased a whopping 3 1/2 minutes of advertising time for the Feb. 7 event, 30 seconds of which go to Shock Top.)


But back to that promise of the best Super Bowl spot ever. "I do think it captured the spirit of Shock Top," Miller concluded, "kind of like, 'We're a great beer, get with the program. Why are you drinking the competitors when you know we're the most delicious thing?'"

Overall, Shock Top Banana Wheat was an enjoyable beer. I recommend drinking Spiced Banana Wheat very slowly so you can experience its flavor. I would drink Banana Wheat with desserts like a big slice of chocolate cake or bananas foster. I would not drink this beer with any type of meal other than dessert.


For me, Shock Top Spiced Banana Wheat was a one and done type of beer. If you go bananas for caramel and bananas, then you will really enjoy this beer. Anheuser-Busch also brews Belgium White, Honey Crisp Apple Wheat, Raspberry Wheat, Pumpkin Wheat, Shockolate Wheat, Twisted Pretzel Wheat and Lemon Shandy. I bought a 6 pack of Shock Top last night and is suggests on the package to make a drink they are calling a "Choc-Top." The pack comes with 3 Belgian Wheat normal Shock Tops and 3 Chocolate Wheat beers.

No, Shock Top is brewed only in the United States. Of course, you may be able to get the beer in neighboring countries, like Canada and Mexico, but Anheuser-Busch does not brew the beer in those countries. And, frankly, it is unlikely that Shock Top beer brewing will move overseas anytime soon for multiple reasons.


Firstly, Anheuser-Busch is an American Brewing company and is a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV. The headquarters of AB InBev is in Leuven, Belgium. However, the operations of the Anheuser-Busch brewing company is solely in the United States, and there is no indication that will change in the future. Therefore, the production of most American-produced beers, like Shock Top, will remain in the United States.


Brewmasters can also make clone beers that seek to replicate the properties of hock Top responsible for its flavor and other physical properties. Even non-professionals can make a good clone beer with the right tools in regions where the original beer is unavailable.
